Finder Application Folder does not stay organized

My application folder in finder does not stay organized by name. Every time I restart my iMac I have to tell it to arrange by name. I have tried holding down the option key to change the option to "keep arranged by.." and this does not work either. Any other suggestions to try?

Is your day-to-day user account a non-administrator? If it is - I have the exact same issue. The only fix I've found is to set the default to arrange EVERY folder by name, from the View Options area in Finder.

• Right click in your Applications folder
• Select 'Show View Options'
• Bottom where it says 'Arrange By' choose the choice you want
• Click the 'Use As Defaults' button
• Close window
