So I've been having this weird issue ever since upgrading to Lion. Occasionally when I open a folder in Finder (usually via the 'go' menu or keyboard shortcut) it shows up in column view no matter how many times I set it to icon view. I tried deleting the preference files for Finder, but no such luck. It's not a huge deal, just a minor annoyance. Any thoughts?

This is a Lion bug that I (and plenty of others) have been utterly unable to vanquish. No matter how many times I reset the default view to 'Icon' mode, Finder will eventually forget the preference and pop up a new window in column view--the bug's been around since the 10.7.0 GM and is still there in 10.7.2 and 10.7.3. I hope Apple gets around to fixing it some day.

Err...Have you tried going to that specific folder in finder, pressing command-J, and unselecting 'open / browse in column view'?
