When I try to copy my home folder to a backup disk manually, or vice versa, I get the warning 'Some files cannot be copied because they have special permissions, continue?' (Or something to that effect). How can I avoid this issue? I don't know which files have the special permissions, is they're a way to find this out too?

What OS version are you running? I thought when I tried to do that I would just be asked for a password to override any special permissions...

You might try logging into another account on the same computer with admin privleges and copying it from there--that would override any funny "open file locks" or such, at least.

I'm running 10.3.9, and the same thing happens even under root (I can't go any higher than that, obviously).
