I have a weird problem with my finder under OS X El Capitan: Everytime i click it opens one particular folder within my pictures folders. I changed the default folder to "Downloads" a couple times but this has no effect. Only when i right click it and hit "new window" it pulls up the right one. I have no clue how to change that and it's really annoying. Any ideas folks? Already posted that into the help subreddit. Now I need you guys!

It might be something strange about your Downloads folder. I assume you're changing the "New Finder windows show" selection in Finder>Preferences>General. Try setting it back to your home folder.

Do you have a nonstandard drive setup, or maybe hard-linked folders?

Open Finder then hit command-comma to open preferences and what do you have this screen set to? If I change mine to Downloads or whatever I want a new Finder window opens in that folder.
