Week two of owning my Mbp, loving it for the most part except as of 3 days ago, the finder stopped working as expected. When I attempt to drag a file over a folder, the folder will not launch and pop open. Or if I drop a picture off safari or an browser for that matter onto a folder, the folder will move to the lefthand side of the desktop. For some odd reason as well, when I drag photos onto the desktop from a browser, they organize in grid mode (which I have turned off). This does not occur if I drag any files or using the finder.

Nothing has been installed in the last week. When I ran disk utility after the first occurrence of this problem, this is the message I received:

Group differs on "private/etc/cups", should be 0, group is 26.

which has popped up since.

Any ideas as to what is going on?
