Finder freezes

hi, im having a problem with my macbook pro 3 out of the 5 times i start it my macbook pro freezes on desktop is like the finder freezes and i get the spinning wheel..

Delete com.apple.finder.plist in ~/Home/Library/Preferences

And/Or, delete the invisible file called .DS_store on your desktop.

tried it work for couple of days. starting to happen again any other ideas what could it be?
