Is this a hidden feature? It's something I've not seen before anyway...if you option-click on the window title in Finder it shows you a hierarchy list right back up to the root of your drive (see attachment.) Pretty cool I thought! :)

That's been around since OS 8.5 at least, I think. For me, it is the main way to navigate hierarchies in Finder although it's not immediately obvious to many users. A bit too obscure, Apple.

Further back than that... at least System 7 (maybe even 6 or 4).

The feature was called Backtracking.

It was a lot more important earlier on when you might end up in a window and have no idea where on your system you were looking at.
