I have a bunch of Ruby scripts (files that end in .rb). They are plain text files.

I used Finder to find all the ruby scripts that contained a certain string, and Finder didn't, as if all the .rb files were not even looked at.

Is there is setting to tell Finder to also search in .rb files? Finder's help couldn't find anthing on this either...

Thanks, Todd

You'd probably need a Spotlight plugin to index the contents of Ruby files, even if they're basically just plain text files (Spotlight doesn't know that).

Or, if you *just* put the files on your Mac, maybe they haven't been indexed yet? I thought Spotlight indexed new files on the fly, but who knows.
