I am a new Mac OS X Leopard user and I am trying to configure the default settings for Finder and I understand how to set the defaults. I know about holding down the option key to re-size and going to Show View Options. After I set the desired settings, I closed all Finder windows and opened up a new one. Good, I verified all my settings for a new finder window were saved. The problem is when I click a folder on the desktop, or open a stack in Finder, the only settings saved are the settings applied in Show View Options? Is there some kind of fix or workaround to make ALL Finder windows open the same way even if the folder is located on the desktop?

Thank you for your help in advance!

If you want all finder windows to be the same, you should just have to change one window to what you want, and all should be fine.

If you want the folder to be different from all the others, make sure you ticked 'always open in...' after pressing CMD + J. Otherwise leave it blank.

What's the optn + re-size trick?!
