I have a problem with finder in 10.5.3 (but it has occurred in all versions of 10.5)

I have some network shares which I access frequently. Because I have mounted shares hidden on the desktop and they are a bit ackward to navigate to I have dragged the icons to the "DEVICES" section of finder.

This works fine at home with both my iMac and Macbook, if it can find the Airport shares (called Time Machine and AirDisk) they are shown, otherwise they aren't.

However at work it isn't working, if I drag the icons there they are fine, until I restart (or kill Finder), after that they are gone.

I have tried trashing com.apple.Finder.plist and com.apple.sidebarlists.plist but the problem persists.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Could it be because the shares at work are SMB not AFP, or am I doing something wrong? Is there another file I need to trash?

    Thanks

I don't have a solution for you, but I can just say I have the same problem.

The networking in finder is wack.
