Hi everyone,

Is there a way in the finder to have all the folders grouped together at the top or bottom of a list? In XP it does that, and I find it quite convenient. They still follow the organizing criteria (date/modified/etc.) but they all sit seperately from the misc. files.

thanks!

Go to the menus, View> Arrange By> and then pick.

Then, you can hit apple j while in finder and hit snap to grid (just looks nicer)

Is that what you wanted?

Not Quite. You know how when you open a finder window that has both folders and files in it, and you organize it by, say, date modified, the folders and files will be mixed together depending on the dates (which makes sense, if it is organizing strictly chronologically).

In XP, though, if you organize by date modified, you can make it so that all the folders will always be grouped together at the bottom of the list, and all the misc. files will be at the top. Each group still is organized by date, but they are separated.

Is that more clear?
