    I researched this problem on the forums and googled it but can't find the answer.
    I accidently quit finder instead of Safari this morning and now Finder will not open.
    I still have it in the dock but nothing will work. I also do not have the toolbar at the top either. I can still open the other icons on the dock and use them so I can get on Safari, Ical, etc.
    Can anyone help me with this stupid mistake that I made? I thought I did this once before but I can't remember what I did to rectify the situation.

    thanks all.
    :(

    Applications / Utilities / Terminal :

    Code:
    defaults write com.apple.Finder QuitMenuItem 1

    I tried that first this morning. It didn't work.

    I will try it again when I get home from work.
    Thank you again for any help that you have given me and will give me. I am clueless.

    thanks

    Thank you for your help spinnerlys. I went to go turn on my mac and lo and behold the finder was in there. I know that I had restarted it earlier. Oh well all is well.

    Have a great day! :eek::D

    Hi guys,
    if you quit your Finder (which you CAN do anytime, by the way), then to restart it you just quit all the remaining Applications & the Finder WILL restart automatically.
    Try it...
