Finder wont save any of my preferences.

In finder, I always want it to sort my files as "date added" But every single time I restart the computer it will switch back to "date last opened". This happens for any other preference as well. Why cant they just make something as simple as that work right? Its ridiculous how many stupid little problems mac osx has now that should never happen in the first place.
