Some time ago I decided to upgrade from my iPad pro 9.7 due to storage and speed and tried a few things, most recently an iPad mini 5.

My budget doesn't stretch to Airs and beyond.

I just keep reaching for my old IPad Pro! I didn't sell it as just kept it as a back up but it was so good I keep using it!

Finding the mini 5 a touch too small and the screen on my pro is really really lovely.

It was a steal when it came out compared to current higher end models, I love the size, the screen, the quad speakers...

But it is getting slow!

Honestly I wish there was a world where you could update the chip in an existing, issue less device (and more storage, foolishly got 32g!)

Not really a question, just a little moan :)

I hear you totally.

We still have a 9.7 iPP in the house mostly as a video content viewer (with the screen and pro speakers it’s amazing in that role).

It’s a fantastic model. That screen is still absolutely gorgeous.

Even though I mainly use my Mini 5...when I compare the sceeen quality side by side, it makes me sad for the Mini lineup.

The Mini models - even the new 6 - simply don’t have screens that are as lucious, saturated and gorgeous.

You can find good condition 10.5 for pretty cheap. Solid upgrade from 9.7. I don't notice much difference between my 10.5 and M1.

Yeah I did that but it had the dreaded white spot!
I have to admit I'm also nervous about buying iPads as so many reported screen issues in different generations. Apart from the base iPad it seems...

Yeah it's perfect for video!

Very tempted to just to with a 9th gen but worried the screen will be disappointing and maybe writing on it with my apple pencil will be worse.

Gonna need to do something though as my pro works perfectly for watching stuff but is starting to struggle in other areas.

And the Minis cost a lot less than the Pros, so there’s that.

Are the return policies not good/non-existent where you’re located? Because trying it yourself is the best way to check if the 9th gen would suit your needs.
