Awesome, thanks for all your help. I will definitely check out the sites like 8tracks, pitchfork, allmusic, hypem and try the radio features in Spotify along with signing up to last.fm.

I am determined to get away from the mainstream rubbish of late.

I too have been wanting to expand my tastes too lately.

I've mostly been craving some non-classical cello. I adore the instrument but I just have no taste for the baroque. I think this come from playing in an orchestra myself, I dislike listening to music that I've played excessively.

I have been using a new site called www.raditaz.com. It has over 14million songs and no ads. You can also discover what other users are listening to on the music map. It's an interesting concept, definitely worth checking out.

I go to a band that I like on iTunes and see what others have bought for a particular album. I have discovered so many new bands that i never knew about by doing this. I had also discovered that many of the band members had formed other bands over the last ten years and had 2-3 CDs on those other bands and I loved their music as well.

If your watching a movie and there's some music in it you like, you can Google the soundtrack to find the song and the artist. Then you can go on YouTube and listen to other songs by that artist that you may also like :D

Just do a youtube surf and see where it takes you. I just came across this bloke:

The instrument he plays and the way he manipulates it is incredible.
