Up until about a week ago when I opened the Findmy app the location was wherever I was located at. Now no matter what I do the default location is my granddaughter. I only have my granddaughter and wife listed in the app as we can locate each other.

I don't believe I changed anything. My wife's iphone works with her location as the default. I haven't had my granddaughter check her phone yet.

Any idea of how I can get back to my location being the default location when opening the app? Thanks.

Try the following on your device and see if it works:
  • Open the Find My app.
  • Tap the Me tab (bottom right).
  • Select Use This iPhone as My Location.

Just to clarify - you mean the “Me” location is where your granddaughter is? If so, it sounds like she’s signed into your Apple Account. @nickelro’s steps would fix the location issue, but she “should” be signed into her own Apple Account; a Family Sharing account if necessary.

If you’re talking about something other than the “Me” tab, that advice won’t work - where exactly are you seeing this?

My wife and granddaughter have their own accounts. “Me” is where I’m at. It is using my phone and or watch as my location.
