I just installed Fink then Gnucash 2, and it took over 2 hours. My /sw directory is also VERY large at 2GB. Is this normal to take this long to compile? Is it normal for the /sw to be so big?

I tried to install Macports with success, but when I install an app (kdenlive) with
sudo port install kdenlive
it starts recompiling ALL sources which was a very time and CPU consuming job so I canceled after one hour.
Is there a way to get the binaries directly like apt-get (Linux) does ?
