I'm slow, is an NDA a non-disclosure agreement?

What do you think Apple lost in this fire, other than the special edition Macbooks, or the new iPod?

Why does apple have to have lost those 2 items...There could've been mac pro case prototypes where the fire started, we'll never know what was lost, if anything, they could've been very lucky and missed all the important stuff altogether, thats what im hoping for :p

iFire 1.0

Wow,

Apple releases "iFire 1.0" Kewl.
Amazing how many iFiremen were on scene at the iCampus putting out the iFire 1.0. I bet they used lots of iWater to put out the iFire 1.0.
There are even iRumors of iFire 1.1.1 to be released in the near future.
iChiwawa.

Because no one was injured, we can laugh about this.

I bet SJ would rather burn alive then let those firemen get a glimpse of inside the R&D lab!

Maybe they were working on "iFlame" - an iPhone application that starts fires.

Maybe someone broken into the R&D Lab so SJ had to kill him...the hard way...

Important lesson here people, never leave your MacBook charging overnight. ;)

I charge my macbook overnight from the first night I got it. (6 months ago) Of course I turn it off and charge it.

On the roof? Sounds like a possible arson, no?
CBS5's interview with the fire chief shows that it was an HVAC unit where the fire started, and that is was most likely electrical or gas problems that caused it. It also sounds like there was some slight construction work going on at the building as workers called it in, but there was no confirmation as to if they were Apple's employees or construction contractors doing construction work. There was also a mention of a welder, but how that came up I do not know. My guess, there was a work crew working on the HVAC system for construction in the building, and maybe somehow somebody did something that sparked the fire.

...

they would have prototype designs and stuff stored on multiple servers at different buildings... right? So that they don't lose a whole lot when one building happens to have something unexpected (like a fire.) So like, they could replace any prototypes they lost in the fire in just a few days, right?

Yeah, I had wondered when enemy action would be included as a possible cause along with happenstance, accident, coincidence, or heat issues with certain Mac products; however, nobody, but nobody has suggested Act of God so far....any thoughts?
Cheers.

I read the fire was small but there will be a lot of smoke damage.
Baked Apples for dessert tonight.
By the sound of it, there will probably more water and smoke damage than anything, it sounds like they went all out with the water on this fire.

Maybe God was just testing his own creations? Empirically, so to speak?
Cheers.

Steve Jobs (aka GOD) will reveal at the September press conference the new MacBook.

Their solution to the overheating battery? Don't sweat it! The laptop is now so incredibly heat resistant that it'll burn a hole through your lap and to the center of the earth before it stops playing that HD movie! This was just the heat resistance test.

Your sleuthing skills are impressive....
I am assuming that you are being sarcastic, I meant more along the lines of a worker on the roof (the mentioned welder maybe) may have started the fire accidentally, verses it starting without any human error.

Awwww this is too bad. Glad no one was hurt though. Hopefully nothing extremely important was lost.
