Firefox 115 ESR extended to March 2025!

I missed the announcement last month, so I was pleasantly surprised when offered Firefox 115.16 ESR on Mojave. Good news for once!

Especially since it says "at least March 2025". 🙂

Yes I agree. I still have machines on Sierra and High Sierra (some with dosdude patcher) for legacy purposes; I posted this in the HS forum last month.

September? Yeah. I think they will continue security support for longer since Firefox is the only game in town. With that I don't see traffic decreasing for us older users who need a secure browser on these older systems.

They really should have gone for another round. I use it all the time on those macOS versions.

I have systems running Sierra and Mojave so I appreciate the extension. These systems still run great.

Mozilla has decided to extend support (yet once again) to March 2027 for the fifth time and will likely be the final date going forward if they did not shadow update the date like they did earlier this year.

I don't know about it being the final date since people can't buy new computers like they could a year ago. I think they might extend it once again if the users continue using it as much as they are now. I know I am using it all the time on the Mac Pro under 10.14.
