Can you please tell me how can I hide/disable the 'recent bookmarks' feature of the new firefox version? I see some articles about it, like manually right click to each one and select 'hide', but it seems to work only in windows. This 'brand new' feature is annoying for me. Any solution on mac?
1) Click on the "show your bookmarks" icon at the top right the the FF window header (next to the search box) 2) Right click on "show all bookmarks" 3) Choose "hide Recently Bookmarked" 4) Return to your regularly scheduled programming Hope that helps.
As with my (customized) ff I have not search box for years, can you please tell me an alternative way (or a screenshot) where is the 'show your bookmarks' option?
See the little icons in the upper right corner of your FF window? One of them will take you to "show bookmarks". Click it.
Look at the address window at the top Just to the right of that will be a "star" next to what looks like a "clipboard" Click on the "clipboard" Right-click on "Show All Bookmarks" At the bottom, click on "Hide Recently Bookmarked"
This is my address bar. Where is the 'star' icon? If there are menu equivalents to achieve it, please tell me.
You can add the "Bookmark this page/Show your bookmarks" icon by customizing your toolbar to add the icon. See the FF "Customize the menu or the toolbar" video: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/k...-features#w_customize-the-menu-or-the-toolbar
Right click on a clear part of your toolbar Click on customize Drag the "Star" to the toolbar Exit customization Follow the instructions I gave before Repeat the above instructions and drag the star off the toolbar to put it back the way you had it.
I first installed Firefox 49 on my Windows 7 machine at work. When I saw the Recently Bookmarked items, I instinctively right-clicked on an item in the Bookmarks menu; the resulting contextual menu contained an option for "Hide Recently Bookmarked." Similarly, with Recently Bookmarked items hidden, right-clicking on any item in the Bookmarks menu displays a contextual menu containing an option for "Show Recently Bookmarked." I didn't realize I'd have to jump through so many hoops to do the same thing on the Mac! Makes me wonder if someone at Mozilla screwed-up with the Mac version of Firefox 49.
