Firefox Corruption - Text As Boxes

Does anyone get this happening in Firefox? 3.5.5 on SL 10.6.2.

It happens randomly after some time, sites will get corrupted text showing up as...

◻◻◻◻◻◻

Basically all characters turn to square boxes. Doesn't happen on Safari, seems to be Mac only too.

Sometimes that happens when you've set your encoding to something strange. Go to your view->encoding submenu and check what the auto detect settings are. Try (Off) or perhaps Universal

Trying that now - it was set to Off and Western, but I have auto-detect to Universal and sites are showing up as Unicode now.
