Other Firefox Dynasty - Firefox for OS X 10.8+ (Now Momiji!)

I wouldn’t expect the version numbers to match up precisely. Mozilla uses multiple version control systems and it’s frankly not entirely clear how they cut releases from the source tree. It’s not evidence of anything concerning IMO.

FYI: The 145 now has rounded buttons. In case anyone wants to revert to the previously squared buttons, which I much prefer, the following can be added to Chrome->my_ userChrome.css (courtesy doom_hamster) at

Unrelated: is there some way to get posts from elsewhere not to show as above, to which it always seems to default? Instead just the URL plain and simple. Something I haven’t yet found in settings?

I am on mac os 10.11.6 - it's all I got at this point.

Chrome is nearly completely broken on many sites.

I don't know how to use github but from what I can tell and from what I've seen of others using it, my chrome gui for github is so broken, I can't submit a new account request and I can't view a downloadable installer for firefox dynasty.

Is there another place to get the firefox dynasty installer? other than github?

Here's a screenshot of what I see on github. Many of the links/buttons/dropdowns do nothing.

I would sure appreciate some help?

Hi everyone, has anyone got widevine to work with FF Dynasty under 10.7-10.11? Have tried with varioius builds (including openwv - self-compiled or using pre-built versions from e.g. https://github.com/i3roly/firefox-dynasty/issues/56) but while widevine is detected in all cases, for me it crashes when starting playback (spinning logo with prime/netflix or stalled loading with disney/bitmovin)

I have set:

media.eme.enabled true
media.eme.encrypted-media-encryption-scheme.enabled true
media.gmp-widevinecdm.visible true
media.gmp-widevinecdm.enabled true

I tried

media.gmp-widevinecdm.autoupdate set to false with non-current builds/openwv
media.gmp-widevinecdm.version set to the relevant non-current version/openwv

Am I missing something? Does widevine require extra libs under 10.7-10.11 with FF Dynasty (like chromium legacy did - although I could never get that one working with widevine either) ?

Note: Firefox v145 is the last version with Extensions and Themes under the Tools menu, so be sure to save a copy.

His 147 release yesterday turned out to be a beta of 148. Oops. Let's hope he simply turned off the site to prevent additional downloads until he provides a fix. There can be profile issues with version rollbacks, but I'm happy just starting from scratch if the time comes.

Just a thought in case he reads this. He often does a mapping between his release version numbers and Firefox's own. Maybe he can call the real 147 release 148.0.0.1, any following sub-releases 148.0.0.2 etc, then the real 148 release 148.0.1, back to normal. Maybe that will fix the profile problem for the time being, though he may need to migrate 148 profile code to the 147 code base. Just an idea, a one-time thing to cover the "oops".

Probably not, since i3roly's other github repos and gists are returning 404. Repos can be "shadow banned" for various reasons (user complaints, algorithmic flagging, etc) pending the outcome of github's review. I don't know if that's the case here, just a semi-educated guess.
 
This happened once for chromium legacy repo before, generally github does not seem to like "large" repos. Last time it affected other chromium mirrors too and got some traffic online, idk if this time it's as widespread

I wonder if this might be at the request of Mozilla. Their license terms say that if you distribute your own build or fork, you have to remove the Mozilla Firefox branding. Firefox Dynasty did no such thing - the app was named "Firefox" and it used the same icon and other branding.

My guess, based on no facts whatsoever, is that Mozilla told him and GitHub that the project is in violation of Mozilla's license terms and that he can't continue to distribute it until he changes the branding. Much like how Debian temporarily was shipping "Ice Weasel" and how GNU is still shipping "Ice Cat".

that wouldn't get his entire account deleted, just the dynasty repo. as far as i know this is him deleting his account himself, either that or being reported for all the horrible things he said to people in that one issue.

Too bad - Firefox Dynasty could have been useful to a lot of people.
