Firefox opened files

When I open a file (from website) in ff without saving it. Firefox automatically downloads it to my desktop and then opens it. Is there a way to save it to a specific location instead of desktop? Things become very cluttered when viewing multiple documents online.

I think this is something that's still broken on the Mac version of Firefox.

To avoid a Desktop full of downloaded PDFs, you might try PDF download and PDF Browser plugin in conjunction with Adobe Reader.

Change your download location in Safari preferences (yep, Safari governs where downloads go).
