I tried in on this thread and it came up with "Macrumors readers will hate this feature and complain about it for several pages" Wow it was spot on too! 🤣😂
Wait until Apple incorporates something similar using 5 complex push/slide combinations of the camera button (that no one will remember) to summarize a webpage and everyone here will say it's true innovation.

Personally, I like the idea. And for those who didn't read the article, there IS a button in Firefox to do the same without the shaking.

Don't know how accurate the AI summary will be but will be fun to try it out. Will surely check it out when it is available.

Or you could just read the website you're looking at.

(You'll need to read it anyway to check if the AI hasn't messed up the summarizing).

If I got paid by the word for reading the endless droll that many/most articles are, just like the writers who get paid by the word, then maybe I could force myself to sit through paragraphs of useless information just to find the meat of the matter. I guess some people, like you, prefer to read 20 paragraphs of an article that really could have been said in 1. But then the writer wouldn't get paid much.

Writers generally do not get paid "by the word". That's not how journalism works.

No will overload the swipe down like they did on the ipad to access menus

Shake to..anything really, is the stoooopedeeest function anyone's ever designed in the entire history of mankind.

I have never ever understood the “shake entire phone” as a gesture. I think iPhones used to (maybe still do?) support shake to undo. This always seemed horrible. Why would I want to shake my phone to intentionally do something.

Obviously in this case there are other ways to trigger the summarize action but I really hope this shake gesture isn’t making a comeback.
My non-iPhone uses shake (or chopping motion) to turn on the flashlight. Which is the function that makes the most sense for me. Can be done in a hurry, doesn't need any dexterity, can be done with gloves or mittens on because you don't even have to unlock it or find a button, etc.
