I installed firefox and when I restarted I had to launch it from my dowonload folder is this normal. Thing of it my bookmarks were gone
 
When you open the Firefox folder, inside the downloads folder, be sure to drag the Firefox icon over to the Applications folder. That's how you install applications on a Mac.
