Firewire 800 cable for 400 device

Now I can finally do what I intended to do with my computer..audio recording. Funny because my old powerbook had FW400 and I bought the unibody for recording purposes. Whatever. At least its pretty and shiny.

Will an adapter such as

be the same? The cable is not in stock, its on amazon though. Adapter is cheaper.
