That's it .. Lust factor ten ..

Apple works fine with Sony since the whole Firewire thing started .. see i.e. all Sony DV cams are supportet by Apples software.

This would be the really big deal and would be worth the teasing of the last days.

And this would explain Steve Jobs speaking at the keynont of CES Las Vegas on tuesday (that's why the Expo keynote was moved to monday).

erm...

exactly what part of the game console would be firewire based? the controllers?

Re: erm...

that's what i actually not know, if i knew it all i wouldn't sit here ..

:)

good point...

same here. actually, maybe some sort of video-editing set top box that's based on imovie3 which is firewire and i.link (sony's 1394 variant) compatible. but i like the idea of it playing games better.... :D

I don't think Sony would make a PS2 competitor that they only get 50% profits on.

Come on, guys. It's the same stuff like the PDA thing. Apple already has its (bad) experiences with a game console (Pippin) and they're definitely not going to release a new one! Wake up!

waht?

erm...so wait, Apple released a game console called Pippin??? Rrrrrightt(in dr.evils voice). When did this happen...or wait a better question...on which planet?

Pippin

was one of Apple's worst flops... If it would have arrived about half a year before the original Playstation it might have survived, but it was just priced to high and marketed at the wrong time.

It was impressive... Could play games, use the web (could it check e-mail?) and I think it came with Word processing power...
