firewire converter

Hi all,

Has anyone got a link to a firewire converter?

I have a Sony cam corder which had a firewire 400 cable but the new MBP i have brought only has 800.

Can you get a 800 > 400 converter ?

I just received the Sonnet convertor which takes the FW400 plug and converts it to the FW800 for the new MBP. It works well on my G Technology external drives and next week I will see how it works on a tethered Canon 1Ds MarkII.

Like you would for USB, look for the cables that have the required connector on each end.

There might be some 9-pin (FW800) to 4-pin cables (small FW400), though it should be easy to get a 9-pin FW800 to 6-pin FW400 cable.
