FireWire PCI expansion card?

I'd like to increase the number of FireWire ports on the back of my Mac Pro (early 2008). I tried finding a FW hub but couldn't seem to find one... I guess FW doesn't work the same way as USB because there are a million USB hubs out there(?)

Anyway... what is the best way to get more FW ports happening and if it's putting in a PCI card, which one?

Do a google search on 'Firewire repeaters', it looks like a number of firewire hub makers use that term.

Firewire hubs are out there, but I can't say I've ever seen one retail

If you have the pci slots to use I don't see why you wouldn't go for a firewire PCI card.

You say that you have a Mac Pro and you want to install a PCI card. That is mutually exclusive.

The Mac Pro never had a PCI bus. It only has versions of the PCIe bus. So obviously you need to look for a compatible PCIe card.
