Is there such a thing as a Firewire Splitter? I have one Firewire 800 connector on my iMac. However I use two external backup drives, one for Time Machine and the other for Super Duper.

I'd like to be able to connect both backup drives to my iMac Firewire without constantly having to Eject the drive, unplug it from one drive, plug into the other, etc.

    Thanks

Can't you daisy chain the two together? My Firewire drives have more than one port to plug in a cable. I just plug one into the other and viola there they are.

No, I'm using LaCie 500GB drives and they only have one firewire port.

You might want to consider buying a new external drive with two ports rather than spending money on a FW800 splitter (which aren't cheap).

Then you could make the LaCie the last drive in the chain. The new one would certainly have two Firewire ports.

    Good luck
