Firewire spec - late '09, 21"

What is the full spec of the Firewire port on a late 2009, 21.5" iMac ? This page simply says "Firewire 800". I need to transfer some miniDV tapes from my Sony camcorder that requires Firewire. I had done it years ago with a different computer and still have the cable but didn't realize the iMac used something different, so I have to buy a 2nd cable.

The camcorder is 4-pin, Firewire 400. The iMac has (5) pins (tabs) along one edge and (2) on an edge perpendicular.

it will all work just fine, you just need a 4 pin to 8 pin Fire Wire cable.

I believe that what the OP needs is a "4 pin to 9 pin" adapter or cable.
