First Apple Watch

Decided to go for my first Apple Watch. Going for a 40mm S6.

Torn between the blue and grey - any opinions from current owners? I don’t plan on changing the straps on either but will mainly be wearing during the day which would mean wearing with suits etc.

Really like the look of the blue but unable to see in real life currently so not sure how it would look with certain clothing.

I recommend the gray. It will hide scratches much better than the blue.

It's really firstly about the band, and then secondly if the color of the watch is compatible with the band.
The big thing about the Apple watch is you can really change the look from sporty to casual to formal by the appearance of the band, not so much by the appearance of the watch itself. But if the watch color does not go with the band color (which does not necessarily mean match the band color), it will look weird.

The blue S6 is a very dark blue, so would be great for wearing with suits, but it is hard to offer an opinion without knowing what band you are considering. For instance, the metallic bands, which have a more formal look, may not be so great with a blue watch. And some of the blue bands are a bit off (different hue of blue).

This is just me, but I think the blue is kind of tacky. I know it’s a ‘fun color’, but it seems like it’s more geared towards what a teenager would want or maybe just use for the gym environment. The space gray just generally has so much more band appeal for customization, and also in the future, will generally have a higher resale value with that specific color.

Thanks all - gone for the space gray.

Ordered through Apple so least I know it’s easy to return should I change my mind.

Next thing will be whether the 40mm turns out to be too small but we will see.
