I wouldn't call them *good* Hartford stories?!?!

Anyway, We have 7 inches so far, expecting another 6-10 today and 4-10 tonight...totals might run to 30 if we are lucky!

Unfortunately the predicted high winds and blizzard conditions are keeping me from going skiing this afternoon like I wanted. Maybe I can get my wife to stay home with the kids tomorrow so I can go then.

So the 5-10 inches expected has turned into 2 inches of sleet and ice. The weathermen somehow managed to get another one wrong.

I think they need to update my weather widget. The amount of snow on my widget doesn't do justice to the amount outside! We got about 16 inches last night!:(

Am actually in W. Hartford, though nobody knows where that is so I always just say "I'm from Hartford." I really do think Hartford gets a bad rap -- locally and nationally. Outside of the North End, it's really not a terribly dangerous city. White flight needed to build up quite a myth around itself, I think.

I wish I were shovelling. All we have is ice. Lotsa lotsa ice. Off work today, though, so can't complain too much. :p
Hartford get a bad rap because there is nothing to do. They build a convention center for reasons I still don't know. I wish they would remake the civic center so maybe we can get a pro team again.

My grandmother lives in Hartford and I hate having to drive there. The roads are a mess and nobody cares about anything there. Granted she is in the southend where its a little better but not much anymore.

Of course living in Manchester isn't that great anymore since we got the Buckland Mall, over the past 20 years I have seen this place decline.

Oh man, this is getting insane.

That eye surgery I drove my mother-in-law in for? She got it done, but the hour-long drive (normally 25 min.) was such a pain. People not being able to tell where lanes are, driving all over...occasional white-outs....

Then I got home to find the driveway had been completely windswept with snow. Depending on the spot, there was 2-18" of snow. So I had to stop in the apron (and I'm lucky I got that far) and dig out again.

The dumbest part is that said mother-in-law is obsessive-compulsive and has Alzheimer's. She has this compulsion to go out and shovel the snow, and we have to tell her 87 times why she can't.

I hate shoveling snow, but at least I have an extra day to study for my Social Studies and PSSA tests. :)

Hartford is "the city with nothing to do in it". Not really true cause there are some things but nothing overly exciting. I am surprised being between boston and new york it would be more lively... i dunno

It has finally stopped sleeting and its switched over to snow.

Just spent 2 hours shovelin' and it's already back up to a few inches.

Yeah, same here, we just shoveled and snow blowed a foot off the driveway and walk, and there is quite a bit more now and it is supposed to come down at 2-3 inches an hour later this evening.

Im glad somebody is having fun, Im about to shovel 3 inches of sleet.:(

About 1 inch of snow last night, then about 3-4 of sleet pretending to be snow. Then it downpoured some more sleet (I've actually never seen that before). Then it downpoured rain, so all the streets had lots of standing water on them. That made for a fun ride down to North Kingstown.

i'm in Milton MA, we got about like an 1" of snow and a lot of rain and sleet should be a great night when all of this freezes.
Meanwhile, i'm bord as hell

Ugh. Ice is the worst. Last night, it took me 20 minutes to clear off a thick layer of ice from my windows, and even then, it kept refreezing due to the wind.

The roads were bad last night, and even today, the side streets are all packed ice-ish stuff. In addition, a watermain at my school broke, so we had today off as well. I was down at the school last night, and nothing fun about water spewing from the end of a hallway... I just got back from school and by the looks of it, we might have yet another day off.

Oh the joys of winter!
