Hey guys, I am new to iphone and just got my first bill of approx $169. Does ATT always charge one month in advance. I subscribed for $39.99/mo for service, $15 data plus and $5 texting. My service was prorated so total monthly service charge for first month is $107.
    Can someone plz explain this

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

Your second bill will be a normal one. If I were you, I would create an an online account, as this will allow you access to see everything that is going on during the month, like your usage.

If you have issues, I would call or visit your local AT&T store (or cell store that does AT&T).

Yeah my first bill was weird also. Call and try to get the activation fee waived.

you should've read your contract before starting a useless thread...

it clearly states that your first bill will be pro-rated.

I ordered online and I guess I missed that part. The first bill came as a shock to me also.

Definitely download the AT&T app. I pay my bill every month with it and it makes life much easier.

Definitely recommend doing this. I called and had the activation fees for both of our phones removed.

We had ours waived as well - no questions asked, so be sure to ask.

Your contract summery can be found in your account on line, along with the end date, and time left till you can upgrade. The app is a nice tool, but it does not give you all the info from your account.

I recommend three things. First, get activation fee waived by calling customer care. Tell them you are new customer and you think 36 dollars activation fee is little bit too harsh. Be nice to them. Don't harsh on anything you say. Most likely, they will waive it. 36 dollars is not a small money. I would say every penny counts. Also, you should register for AT&T referral program, and have someone refer you. So, you can get your 25 dollars gift card mail it to you in like 4-6 weeks? You can also use it to pay your bill. If you need a referral, I would love to refer you. Email me at hcho321@gmail.com. I will walk you through on what you need to do. It takes like 2-3 minutes to do it.
Another thing is about fan Account. Assuming you are a student or worker. You will most likely get a discount on your cell phone Bill. As long as you are not self-employed, you will get your work discount. I would also suggest check your bill to make sure you did not go over your data or messaging.
    Hope this helps.

    Already got referrred
i am a college student and have Zero credits, so the service is not in my name and for the fan discount the service has to be in my name right?
    thx
