Spotted on Instagram. Appears to be Space Grey sport. Now I'm leaning towards a sapphire stainless model.

So since one is damaged you're looking to upgrade to the next higher model? You're a marketers dream!!:D

Seeing that elevated edge of the glass, I can see myself banging the watch and doing the same thing by chipping the corner. Perhaps sapphire is a better decision.

How are you so sure its damaged?

This looks like a reflection of the photog.

and don't you think  Employees wouldn't make that available to try on?

Come on here...

It's just the reflection. I read Japanese and the comment says nothing about damage at all, plus it's from someone trying it on in-store and I doubt Apple is going to have broken ones out for people to use.

Wow that really does look like a chip,

but my money is on it being a reflection.

You really think the guy posting it on instagram wouldn't mention that there was damage in his comment? Come on.

Why else would he be taking a picture of a chipped and cracked corner? Definitely damaged.

LOL this is going to become the next social media week-long fad. "Is the watch broken or is it a reflection? The internet can't agree on which it is!"

It really does look broken, but I can't say for sure; a close inspection also makes it look like a reflection. It also doesn't add up, with the comment and the fact that they'd let people try on a broken watch.

Oh well, we'll see broken watches for sure soon enough!

Edit: after playing around with the color, brightness, and contrast, it DOES look like it is in fact a reflection, but still not 100% positive.

It's a reflection. Went to his instagram on my MBA, picture is much larger. No damage. The 'chips' are actually lights on the ceiling, as well as the guy's own reflection in the corner.

I clicked on the pic but I still can't see where it's broken. Do you mind point it out?

Someone could have mishandled it before an Apple Store employee caught the damage and pulled it off display.

You do know the Ion-X glass is more shatter resistant than the sapphire display? The latter is more scratch resistant but more brittle.

Lets have google translate what he wrote...

"The reservation here . Na gradually whether it is also not to come me Teca because belt elastomer not silicon ?"

Ah that makes total sense....I don't think its broken : )

haha!

He says, "I reserved this one. Since the belt is elastomer and not silicone, it probably won't get shiny over time."

It's a reflection of the wooden display table inside the Apple Store. Move along, nothing to see here.
