Why else would he be taking a picture of a chipped and cracked corner? Definitely damaged.

You do realize that Sapphire Crystal protects primarily against scratches, not cracks or shattering, right? If anything the Ion-X on the sport is more durable when it comes to full on breaking the display - that's why I'm getting a Sport.
