After waiting for my iPhone 14 Pro, I finally received it in my hands today. Transferring the data was arduous but I eventually got there in the end.

All I had left to do was transfer the eSIM.

Annoyingly with Vodafone Spain, you can’t do that on the phone or contacting them. You must go to a store.

So I drove 15km to my nearest shop for them to tell me “they were out of eSIM QR codes”. What the heck?!

So they were forcing me to pay €5 for a physical one.

Ok, whatever. I want my phone. But no! Since my wife is the primary contact on the account, I wasn’t allowed to request the sim in store (even though I changed the contracts, bought a new phone and in the past, switched to an eSIM in store, without my wife).

After arguing on their hypocrisy, I was then accused of fraud by the deputy manager!!!

You can imagine how that escalated and it wasn’t pretty.

So now I’ve ordered a new sim over the phone (without my wife’s direct consent), but it’s ruined my initial iPhone 14 Pro day.

Vodafone in Spain are a bunch of hypocritical cretins, and Ive already raised a legal dispute on the accusations made against me. Somebody needs to lose their job.

The QR Code thing is ridiculous, however your name not on account is not the employee's fault. Glad to hear they're finally enforcing account security even if you've gotten away with it in the past.

Get account in your name.

The QR code thing is indeed a joke. They should be generated on the fly. The fact that they can’t shows the technology is not ready and I’ve switched back to a physical
SIM.

I’m regard to the named issue, while I am not the primary account holder (my wife is), I am the Mamés account holder for my number… (yet no changes are possible on my own number).

I now need to wait 2-3 days for my new sim to arrive… :/

That’s a wierd thing about eSims QR codes.
With Vodafone UK all I had to do was request one online and 10 mins later I had it scanned and installed it on my phone.
