"Seamless integrates", well, not yet but coming soon.?!?.

I agree there is lots missing, but it supports iOS reminders - which includes location based iOS reminders which I use all the time. Reminders on the Echo and Google Assistant platforms leave a lot to be desired with their lack of iOS integration. HomePod integrates with iMessage which none of the other platforms do either. Also integrates with my HomeKit setup (which is a far superior in automations controls)... I agree with every review out there that says this is a device for those who are deep into the Apple echo system. I was drawn to Google Home and Amazon Echo because of the price, but when it came down to it (at least for myself) it seems it will be worth the extra $$ for the simplicity of setup and automation.

I’m still wanting multi-user support though. That seems like an obvious feature that should be supported off the bat.

Or, you could purchase the HomePod and try it for 14 days in your home determine if you think it will meet your expectations. And it's risk-free or you can simply return it if you don't like it.

This is exactly what I am doing. I rarely return Apple products, but there is a strong chance I will with this one if the audio quality does not live up to the hype. If it doesn't, I may go Sonos One. But the reviews for the HomePod look quite promising. I'm really stoked about getting it tomorrow and putting it through its paces. But if it doesn't deliver, it's going back.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY I WOULD BUY THIS OVER MY EXISTING SONOS AND AMAZON UNITS? Better "sound"?!

Since you're shouting, it must be a rhetorical question.

You already have something that I assume you like a lot, so why would someone expect you to ditch that in favor of something you clearly don't want to buy? Chill out. No story about a new Apple product comes with a requirement (or expectation) that you, personally, must buy it.

I'd think the primary audience is not switchers, but people (like myself) who don't yet have smart speakers, may want a good-sounding speaker compatible with their particular music-listening hardware, are heavily invested in the Apple ecosystem, etc.

Meantime, let the people who are excitedly waiting for their deliveries (like me) have some fun, rather than challenge us to defend our choice (especially as we haven't had a chance to use them). IF this turns out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, IF you get a chance to personally experience them (at someone else's expense), decide that they may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, and go out and buy one (or more) for your own use... well, come on back and shout it from the hills!

I'm so excited for all who ordered! I definitely see one of these in my future, probably after I move house in May. I'm part of the niche who (a) have a carefully collected and Apple-Matched iTunes collection, supplemented by Apple Music and (b) have no interest in Spotify, Amazon, Google et al and (c) can easily get by with ONE HomePod as I've been working for a year toward small-space and simpler living.

Or people (like myself) that have purchased forward facing compact speakers and already know what the limitations for them are. I haven't actually been disappointed in my previous purchases, but the design/function of the HomePod for audio appears to solve some of the typical weak spots for compact speakers.

If it doesn't deliver you need to consider spending 1k plus on your sound system, this has been reported (even by Applefobes) as quite something in terms of audio and has been claimed best in its field. But we all have different tastes to how we like our EQ but HomePod promises music to be in its optimal settings for each individual song

What time are the Australians likely to start getting theirs HomePods, should be soon shouldn't it?

Want to get some real user reviews.

Set for whose taste? Tim Cook's?

Here they come. Quote: Setup was incredibly fast and easy with my iPhone. Sound quality so far is impressive. Fills the room beautifully. Never before did I read so many people describing a speaker as "filling the room". I am curious as to what exactly it means. High enough volume?

Do we really need multiple stories every time some product is expected to ship, then when it ships, when when people in Australia get it...

Customers in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia who ordered a HomePod for February 9 delivery have begun receiving shipment notifications from Apple letting them know their orders have shipped and are on the way.

The first HomePod deliveries should begin in just a matter of hours in Australia, where it is already early Friday morning.

Apple is using Next Day Air delivery in the United States and shipping out from local hubs, with tracking information available.

Customers without a tracking number may be able to locate their HomePod's shipping information by going to the UPS website, selecting the track by reference number option, and entering the phone number associated with a HomePod order.

In the United States, HomePod deliveries will kick off at around 8:00 a.m. local time on Friday, February 9, with customers on the East Coast receiving their orders first. Apple is no longer offering the HomePod for February 9 delivery or in-store pickup, but the company will likely have a supply of HomePods available for walk-in purchase in retail stores in the U.S., UK, and Australia on launch day.

Update: This article has been updated to reflect that HomePods are now shipping in the United States and United Kingdom as well.

I am so looking forward to use all four in my home tomorrow!!! :cool:Yay

If you are on the fence with those two how can you not go with the one that allows every service and is not exclusive? How?
I don't use Spotify or any other music service. I use Apple Music, and am looking for HomeKit compatible stuff. Though I already have a few AppleTV's to act as a HomeKit hub, having a few good speakers would also be welcome. I honestly don't intend to interact with a virtual assistant too much, I think I would probably use the app to control things more frequently, but having the option to say "Hey Siri, turn on my living room lights" or as I'm approaching my driveway, "Hey Siri, open my garage" is something that appeals to me - although the latter example would obviously not be used with a HomePod. I'm already in the Apple Ecosystem, so I think my usage requirements leans more towards HomePod, but the price is really what's hanging me up.

Maybe he's like me and couldn't care less about Spotify et al. Been using iTunes, then Match, then Music for eons, don't need anything else and this will work seamlessly with those... as God intended.
[doublepost=1518113436][/doublepost]PS: Folks, watch out for that 'signature required'...
aside from "as God intended", I would agree. I use Apple Music and need/want HomeKit compatibility.

my homepod that i ordered yesterday and showed a delivery date of the 13th shipped last night and shows out for delivery today! :)
