I have an imac g3 tray loading, '98, that doesn't work anymore. I wanted to use it as a common vga monitor, I've already researched it, but I can only find information about a complex mod on an imac dv (second generation g3), I believe my model is easier, as it has a simple DV15 cable old macs.

What I've done so far: I used the motherboard female connector (connector located behind the HD, on a board) to solder wires to a VGA female connector, I found a tutorial/diagram that taught how to use a VGA monitor on a mac lc, so I followed the described pinout, uni pins 7 to 10, which supposedly serve as presence detection signal, pins 1 to 3 destined for RGB, and pins 13, and 14 were connected to the vga female connector, and all ground was bonded and connected to ground, but not successful. The imac turns on immediately when I plug in the power cord (I made a jumper from +5vsb to the PWR) but the monitor light turns orange.

Yes, I had seen it, but this one is for the second generation imac (DV/slot), mine is different (tray)
