Can someone confirm that multiple people's fingerprints can be registered on the new iPads?

Of course. Their finger prints are different than any of yours. The iPad doesn't know if they belong to one person.

I don't understand the complaints about speaker vibration. The speakers provide enough base and volume to cause that. No problem for me. I guess people aren't used to it and it's different. I imagine when car speakers started to have enough base to rattle some people didn't like that either.

So you may have just gotten one with the BF sales.

So let's hear your first impressions.

Took advantage of Apples gift card Black Friday deal and picked up a Space Grey 64GB Air 2. Coming from an iPad 3, the difference is massive. Massive isn't even an epic enough word.

Pictures don't do the thinness justice. You have to hold it in-person in order to grasp the thinness. The combination of reduced weight and size make the Air 2 a breeze for holding and typing.

The display, despite being the same resolution and size as my iPad 3, looks miles ahead. With the laminated display, the color just pops and all previous iPad screens feel like looking down into a canyon, as the sunken displays become very noticeable.

Apparently I was one of the lucky ones, as my Air 2 has zero "issues" everyone on this forum whines about.

Don't we have enough first impressions now? There are plenty of reviews out there now and feedback on the forum.

Not interested in reviews but folks coming from other ipads or perhaps this is their first and besides every individual's feedback is unique being their own.

First impression; why oh why have 'iPad Air' on the box and NOT iPad Air 2?!?!?!? The staff and I had to go through missions to determine I was actually getting an ipad air 2!

I did the exact same thing at best buy when I picked up my iPad Air 2 yesterday. I thought they gave me the wrong model and made a big fuss about it till I looked up the model # online. The clerk said it was about the 10th time she's had this issue and wanted to "slap someone at Apple" for having no iPad Air 2 label on the box.

Anyone is coming from Air 1 and feel very satisfied with their purchase of Air 2?

I was presented with a very good opportunity to sell my first Air at a big profit so I did. While I don't regret it, I'm very disappointed with the Air 2. I researched before I bought it and lowered my expectations accordingly, still it's so close to being identical to my original Air despite Apple's claims I can't endorse it. To pricey, too thin, too fragile like my iPhone 6+ too easy to bend.

Haha! I can imagine this going on at stores across the world!

Just business... they can sell old one using the same name and some people are not so techy to realise the difference. Who will go to buy the old model if the new model is out? This is not the first and not the last time they do that. Think about buying mbp. Is it old, is it early, is it late version or what is it exactly?? When you bought your mbp, you probably checked the model but let be honest, most people just go and buy. If they see the cheaper price tag, it is a big plus. They may ask about differences, but do they understand the jargon... gigs, retinas, ppis, early-middle-late-future models...

I'm with you there. Just got my Air 2 and coming from an iPad 3. Air 2 is perfect in every way.

Got in from Harvey Norman on their Cyber Monday style. €50 off.

Air 2 plus Smart Cover was cheaper than just the Air 2 from Apple :D

Why not look on the front of the box, the air 2 side profile pic on the box does not have the lock-rotate switch, how hard is this to determine the box is an air 2. The air 1 has the profile pic with the rotate switch above the vol buttons

Kevin

And no color photo of iPad...

The iPad Air 2 is just a raised white embossed image of iPad.

I am looking at my air 2 box right now, it has the side profile of the vol buttons minus the lock/mute switch, tell me which other generation does not have this switch

Here is a pic, where is the switch used by every other iPad up to to air 2

Just go by the price paid to differentiate. I do not think the Air and Air 2 ever were the same price at the same time.

edit: nevermind. I thought you mean when you got home.

Other than the fact that the 2 is thinner than the 1, I have no idea what the difference between the Air 1 and 2 are. The iPad wasn't so much for me but for someone else so I didn't do too much research into it - especially on the physical side of things.
