Gotta think a case is extra necessary here as I see a lot of power buttons being broken and ultra $$$ to replace/fix.

Placing the iPad on a table face down makes me cringe. I don't care how tough or scratch-resistant the glass may be -- don't rest it against anything hard!
I’m doing that all the time with my iPad mini 4 — not a problem at all.

Awaiting shipping confirmation of my Rose Gold. 😍 Looking forward to receiving it on Friday and using the Apple Pencil 2 to draw again.

In re: this video and the music? I’ll be polite and remain quiet.

I have the worst luck! Two times I saw it available for in-store pick up for Friday now and both times it became unavailable JUST as I pressed the final "purchase now" button. In my opinion, they should reserve a product for you once you have it in your check out. This is just teasing!

The first unboxing video of the fourth-generation iPad Air has been shared online. The short video offers the first in-person look at the iPad Air's new Sky Blue color, packaging, and Touch ID in the power button.

Other than some demo videos from a Chinese media event last month, this unboxing video appears to be the first of its kind, ahead of more detailed unboxings and reviews expected from the press this week.

The new iPad Air features a 10.9-inch ‌edge-to-edge display, the A14 Bionic chip, Apple Pencil 2 support, and a range of color options including Silver, Space Gray, Rose Gold, Green, and Sky Blue.

Pre-orders of the fourth-generation iPad Air began on Friday, 16 October, and the first shipments are set to arrive on Friday, 23 October.

Does the new iPad Air 4 comes with a flash below the back camera or that is a mic ?

USB-C charger included!
Don't get me wrong...I'm glad they are including a charger with the iPad. Why does Apple apply different logic to the iPad. They claim people have lots of extra chargers laying around. Which is true. But, they aren't the right chargers. In either case. o_O

Exactly that is what I thought, most of the people have plenty of USB-A power adapters laying around but how many of those same people have USB-C power adapters in the same condition considering the USB-C standard is relatively new? None of them !!!

I have soooo many of those 5w chargers. Apple should have a trade-in program. I would trade several of those for one USB-C.

Why is there no power button touch ID in the new iPhone 12? It would make even more sense in a iPhone.
The iPhone 12 has Face ID. The air will be upgraded to Face ID in a year or two now that it has the iPad Pro design.

It would make sense, and if COVID-19 had happened 6-9 months earlier it might have happened (personally I’d prefer to see both FaceID and TouchID on the iPhone, and the ability to require one, or the other, or either, or both). But the design of the iPhone had to be locked in MANY months in advance and there wasn’t time. The iPad Air got it not for hygienic/safety reasons, but simply as a way to clear the home button off the front without installing all the FaceID gear.

Precisely why when the figures add up the air will get Face ID. We are witnessing Face ID getting pushed down the range with the iPhone 12 mini. It’ll get pushed down the iPad range in the same way.

The new iPad Air is a fantastic tablet no doubt, but why so much press coverage over it? It’s a stripped down iPad Pro 11” with new colors and the A14 and it isn’t particularly cheap. Am I missing something?

It's just Apple's marketing on overdrive.

The new iPad Air is missing so many features compared to the iPad Pro. I would recommend finding a used or refurbished 2018 iPad Pro if someone really needs a new tablet.

How about turning on the device. Would have been nice to see the display/bezels.
There are a couple of videos on Youtube showing the ipad pro 11 and ipad air side by side. The Air's bezels are noticeably larger, but not ansurdly so IMHO.

This is reassuring. I’m planning on getting this next month.

Yes definitely reassuring as getting mine delivered this Friday hopefully. By the way I like your Avatar, I take it your an X-Men fan

iPad charges by USB-C, iPhone 12 charges via lightening...now I have to use 2 cables and 2 chargers. Noice. #Environment_Friendly
At least the iPhone 12 comes with a USB-C to Lightning cable, so you need just 1 USB-C charger - but your point still stands!

This is a fake. In this video, the hole by the rear camera is a flash. Officially, the hole by rear camera is a microphone.

All I am saying is lay any new iPad Air or pro face down, carefully on a clean, flat surface and check that it lies flat. Mine does not. I don’t know if it came like that (seems most likely given the bend) or got bent. Did the bend lead to a single long, hairline crack appearing when the device sat in hot sun, I do not know (but it’s the only explanation I have). Unfortunately, due to other cosmetic damage, Apple were unable to take responsibility.
