    $649 for 128 wifi instead of $749
    $779 instead of $879 for 128 cellular+wifi

Combine with $50 edu discount on iPads, and $50 off AC+ (Edu as well) if you're inclined to get warranty,

And it's not a bad deal at all!

$590 for open box 128 space grey wifi too, and $50 edu, $540 isn't bad either. YMMV on that since I believe fine print says open box and refurb are an exception, but someone is stating it worked for them online.

Also, for target people- do a price match, and use red card for 5% on top of that ($616 before tax)

I always get AC+ on my iPads, but I prefer to buy them from B&H / Adorama due to Sales Tax (a lot when you buy the higher end models). I'm wondering if I can get a $50 off AC+ on an iPad not purchased via BB. That's essentially 33% off an out-of-warranty repair ($49+$49 versus $99+$49)

@thedoggfather Thanks for the heads up about the education discount. Got an iPad Pro wi-if 128 GB in the cart for $599.99. Thinking about pulling the trigger for an upgrade for my wife. At that price might throw in Apple Care+ for only $50 bucks more! :)

That's the price it should've been selling at the get go. Apple is learning from US automakers on how to price their wares.

I am curious how the experience of smaller SKB and true tone/improved screen compares to 12.9

I have a feeling I'll be keeping my 12.9, unlikely I'll keep both even though financially wouldn't be a burden, more just my deal-ego at play (internally haha)

    Going to try a 128 9.7

I always get every iPad variant. I'm just not appreciative of the markup Apple added to the 9.7"... "Pro", which is why I'm purposely waiting for a better deal this time around....

150 off with edu discount is pretty killer.

That's like those deep discounts on air 2 at staples. So early in its product lifecycle

Actually it took 6 months, and just before Apple starts releasing refurbished pros. Coincidence?

Congrats man. Never thought you guys would have one haha
yup. The 12 just took about the same amount of time to hit the same discount levels. Apple is pricing them too high for the market.

That is one conclusion to draw. Another one is that Apple is employing a more traditional pricing model that is purposely designed for periodic sales.

Every time Staples had a sale on iPads... Air 2 or 12.9 Pro, people went bananas. The psychological ploy of "getting a great deal" is highly effective, even more so with Apple products that traditionally didn't have frequent sales.

We purchased a 9.7" yesterday at BB. Besides the $100. off we also used the $50. educational discount.

Do you actually have to be a student to use the discount?

No, you just need access to an .edu email for them to send the coupons to.

Any idea how long this deal is on for ? Visiting Chicago shortly from the UK (yes, I know about the sales tax !), would still be a decent saving - but obviously reliant on an instore purchase - slim chance, I imagine ?

Hey, good stuff. Thanks for the post. I've been waiting for the price cut. No worse for the wear waiting it out 1.5 months. Coupon and tax was a wash -- left with $110 savings. I'll take it. Honestly this should have been the price all along though.
