Does anyone else think people should just live in the moment instead of recording a POV of entering an Apple store for a phone that’s been around forever? Just be present and enjoy the moment instead of making it so weird and disconnected.
Nope. This is a tech forum where people are supposed to be comfortable with expressing their feelings about a new “thing”. This isn’t breaking news, just a celebration of new tech. It still brings some people joy. What’s wrong with that? Moreover, how did you find it bothersome enough to comment on it, yet here you are with all the other tech enthusiasts?

It would be no different than the lengths some have gone to for, say, Grateful Dead tickets. It's about the energy, camaraderie, connection and community. Frankly, I miss that option. Is it easier for me to spend 15 seconds and two clicks to secure my launch day delivery? Sure. While there is certainly a time and place for convenience, it seems too often the go to when maybe it shouldn't be. Those queue lines played a much larger, more integral role in Apple's success than Angela may have understood.

That said, looking forward to my 12 pro blue delivery tomorrow. 😉
Grateful Dead?......you must be an old old Deadhead like me. I'm going for the graphite:)

Yep. I worked in a phone store and iPhone launch was always super fun. Lines out the door, we’d have music and food and just have a great time with excised customers.

I still remember showing the line the iPhone 6 and 6+ demo as I set it up through the closed shop windows.
I miss those times!

I received one of my phones waiting for the other one.. kinda good they could deliver majority of them considering the public holiday and restrictions in Melbourne

The glory days were amazing.
New iPhones used to be so exciting!
For me, the iPhone 4 launch was the best one.

I really miss those days (and they were only a few years ago, not too long ago), all the hype, camping outside Apple Store for days and even weeks beforehand, snaking lines that stretch endlessly around the Apple Store, all the cheering and WOOHOO from employees and frantic fans charging into the store as soon as it opens... oh those were the golden times of iPhone launches. Sad that for the past ~3-4 years these hype have dramatically lessened, really not as fun as it used to be. I miss Steve Jobs and the iPhone 4 to iPhone 6 launch days.

95 % asians first in line. Apple's presence in China should skyrocket again with the 12...

I’m really interested to see if the silver with a non-anodized stainless steel band handles dings better. I’m still gunning for the Pacific Blue iP12 PM but man, that stainless steel on the iPhone 4 was aces to use. It was almost indestructible.

PVD on the stainless steel bands. From photos, the steel band on the iPhone 4 appears more substantial than the one on the new 12 Pro. In fact I think the hard anodized finish on the Aluminum bordered 12 would hold up better to wear. Apple dodged the question when The Verge asked them about durability of the new finishes.

I think you may have misunderstood my question.

I’m not against sharing the videos or enjoying new tech and being excited about it.

I’m against everyone filming every single second of their life on their ****ing phones instead of just enjoying the moment and being present.

I was like.. don’t know if I should get the Pro when I kind of wanted just the mini.
So glad. Got the graphite and it looks incredible. Love the new design and the camera in the dark is incredible. Might have to get the wife a max!

Nah, your message was understood. Stop making it an issue. Let people live, dude.
