Not that I am surprised, the reviews seem to all say its a good tablet and they recommend buying it. :D

Not everyone loads up their iPad the same. I've been rocking 16GB on both my iPhone and iPad for a couple years now without issue.

You don't get it.

The guy who wrote the review noted that the apps alone have grown to 10gb of storage space.

You'd better start figuring out what you can delete if you are living within 16 gbs today. Because the same apps now will take more room.

The reviews have been postive to far. Now the remaining thing is for developers to play catchup and gush out apps that will take advantage of the hardware improvements.

No you don't get it, if you're iPad isn't loaded with apps then it's pointless. One person can't speak for everyone. Before I sold my iPad 2 I have maybe 3 pages full of apps and these were fairly small apps so them doubling doesn't effect me much. I had 9 or 10GB of space left on my 16.

And now you'll have none left after deleting a few apps. Enjoy your iKindle.

Yeah but the apps are about to become much larger

Yeah, tripling the size of apps for someone with 2GB worth is gonna have an effect...

Difficult as it is to believe, not every ipad user out there is an uber-alpha geek. Many (normal) people use them for web and email and youtube and other content consumption, buying very few apps.

A power user with lots of apps will see an effect, I agree. Point being that it's not universal gloom and doom for all 16GB ipad buyers.

The apps will increase in size but not to the extremes that everyone is mentioning. Most of the Apple ones that have been updated have extras like music tracks in garage band etc. That doesn't mean that all the other apps will quadruple in size, they might not even double.

Until they start coming out we don't really know.

100% Correct....

I use my Pad for email, web surfing, very little apps over the ones that are included and some YouTube. So for me, I only wanted 16 GB. So Reallybigfeet, I would not rant/worry about those of us that only Needed/Purchased the entry memory amount. Do your ranting on the other tablet boards, will ya ! :p

I'm just glad I bought a 64gb I'd rather have too much space than not enough.

I was planning to go with the 32GB model, but seeing how the iWork apps increased in size (and considering that games probably will be even bigger) I'm going to buy the 64GB one instead.

I've bought the 64gb model too as I've pretty much filled my existing 32gb iPad 1 and I wanted to have the extra headroom. However most of my space is being used up by games and I can definitely see how someone who doesn't play games and doesn't want to sync lots of music, photos and videos could be perfectly happy with 16gb of space.

I doubt there is much to worry about with the iWork apps. Even the new versions will take less than 1.5gb of space in total. Games are likely to be a different matter especially if you want to keep them on your iPad.

its funny...i never noticed how android-centric engadget was until josh and the rest of them left and started the verge..

the verge is obviously a little more apple friendly...and android users HATe them since they speak the truth about the horrible user interfaces and crap usability of android devices...

never realized it that much before...but if you read the comments on engadget for ANY apple device...its always PURE hate. Its just ridiculous...
