I got a "text message" yesterday that was spam. Anyone know how to report this to Apple and AT&T?

I'm sure that won't be the last either

Why is it that I have had Cingular/AT&T for years and never received a spam message? Once again, any way to report this to Apple/AT&T or should I just move on?

I just got a spam text from 362-45 too!!! I am in the same situation as the other guy: I have been with Cingular/AT&T since about 2002 and I have NEVER had this happen! This better not continue!!

I've gotten a few in the past on my old ATT phone but none since I got my iPhone.

Don't forget to check the bill. If you get charged for receiving the message too... ouch...

Call ATT (611 on your phone) and let them know. They may not be able to stop every single one but they probably keep a list of known spam texters. Hopefully they can block the number and/or insure you don't get charged for the text. Definitely call them though; i can't imagine they'd sit back, especially with legions of angry customers yelling about spam texts and overage charges.

As far as im aware, at&t cant do anything about text spams. Thats really ashame though. I have yet to get spam that i can think of, although any day now.

I don't want to thread-steal, but I think this is a bit germane to the OP. About 2 weeks ago we put an AT&T landline in our house (so we could get their DSL). We haven't even used the phone, really (as my wife and I both use our cell phones exclusively). Anyway, not 3 days after the line was put in, we got telemarketers calling us. Nuts.

I am thinking that it doesn't matter what phone you have, you'll get a spam text message here and there. I get them from AT&T myself and I paid a lot less for my phone. ;)

that sucks... I myself haven't gotten one yet, but knowing my luck, I'll get one tomorrow.

AT&T won't just sit there and do nothing, complain, and results will come :)

Someone say spam?

If you complain enough, AT&T *might* give you the parental controls package (I believe it's $9.95/mo.) for free....
