how do i load my contacts from my sim card onto my iphone?

The iPhone does not utilize the storage ability on a SIM card, it is all stored in the iPhone's memory. The best way would be to use your old phone, use iSync to upload onto your computer then use iTunes to sync with your iPhone.

my old phone is a blackberry pearl 8100

how do i do that?

You should be able to do it by either connecting a USB cable or Pair with Bluetooth, then open up iSync, detect device or add device then hit sync. Everything should be added to your Address Book and iCal. It may not work with Blackberry, but any computer with that info can export the files to iTunes and the iPhone.

Almost nothing. Contacts are stored in a VCF file, which is basically a customized XML file, so it is basically text. I have about 100 contacts, and mine is only 500KB. It will grow slightly if you add photos for each contact, but not that much.

I just downloaded Isim which will enable you to transfer your contacts to your sim card. I haven't tried it myself but I downloaded it just incase I plan on buying a 16gb Iphone in the near future.
