First time iphone user

Hi everyone.

I just bought my first iphone 4 and I'll be receiving it this Friday. Theres one thing I dont know: the first time I start the iphone 4 connected to itunes does itunes need to be connected to the internet or its not necessary?

When setting up your iPhone, you will need an internet connection aswell as the latest iTunes update. Remember to update to 4.0.1

Remember to update to 4.0.1

Even though that update isn't necessary, the phone should come with it installed at this point.
