if there is no youtube video tutorial on it i would say its not your easiest option, there is many greenpois0n video turorials and its very staight forward

except greenposi0n & Limera1n do not preserve baseband without something like tiny umbrella. (baseband should always be preserved for future unlocks and phone value. also youtube video's are hit and miss Iclarified tutorials are solid. Applejuiced is well respected by people like me and knows what he is saying he has seen it all!

haha no disrespect meant, i was just sharing my opinion on how easy greenpois0n was for me being my first jailbreak attempt, based on the youtube vids ive seen on greenpois0n this OP would be jailbroken by now and not still unsure what to do

you do make a value point about basebands for phones vaule because you never know when a new unlock will be out

Yeah. Im going with redsn0w. I figured out i just have to install cydia and run it through DFU mode and itll jailbreak, tada.

BTW my 3GS was from week 30 from launch. Is that considered "not new"?

My point was only to steer the the TS in the right direction looks like that is the direction he went so it's all good!

Currently taped "Complete Upgrade" in Cydia and waiting for it upgrade it. Takes forever o__O

Thanks everyone! Anyone know where i can get custom icons? I know i can get wallpaper from Winterboard.

pretty simply it changes allot tons of themes in Cydia many work through Winterboard some require SHSH. with out being rude this google works well.

i was overwhelmed when i fist launched cydia, its best if you use the search because in the section tab you can have folders of 1000's of downloads that fall under that category, you can use simple words in the search like "slider" and you will see all the available slider themes...ect ect


i also recommend watch a few you tube videos using the search Top Cydia Tweaks....this will allow to see some of the more popular tweaks people do and you can see if its would be something you want

Redsnow was not the best choice for novice already on 4.1
And it was not suggested by applejuice.
Always recommend I clarified but you need the one best suited to your situation.
