Hey guys...I just picked up my first Mac computer. I got a A1226 (MA895LL) from a friend last night. It's in great condition and works very well. I do want to upgrade the Hard drive to at least 750gb. I was looking at the Western Digital Scorpio Black 750gb 7200RPM and 16MB cache.

Would this drive work in my 2007 Macbook Pro? If not do I need to drop down to a 5400RPM 8MB cache? What would be your recommendation on this or any other hard drives.

I also want to upgrade the RAM. It has 2GB now but thinking should go to 2 x 2GB to make a total of 4gb.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated!

WD's Scopios Blue 1TB@5400 rpm has near same effective speed than Black 750, drain much less power.

Install as much ram as you can, if you can install 8GB doit, overal system speed will skyrocket,

Cool so I wont have any issues with this drive in my 2007 Macbook Pro with 2.2ghz Core 2 Duo (A1226)??

I don't think my Macbook will even support 8GB of Ram. Isn't the max 4GB?

NO, the maximun supported by system depends on module availability, you need to do a bit of research on the rigth modules for your MBP, if you're in USA I suggest newegg as source (after you find the rigth specifications)
