There is a "supplemental upgrade" for High Sierra on the App Store, though not listed as a .1 upgrade. It's 915mb, suggesting some pretty substantial changes.

Should the version number have changed? Mine is still macOS 10.13 (17A365) after the update.

App Store is saying that there are no updates available, so I'm presuming that it has installed. However, it's not in the list of updates installed in the last 30 days.

Not sure what's going on...

That's strange. Mine is 10.13 (17A405) following the update.

It's included as part of the general installer now for High Sierra, so you could always download and run that instead. It might even be the better option.

It hasn't installed - "show hint" is still displaying an encrypted volume's password instead of the hint :(

Software update says that there's no update available now, so I appear to be stuck.
D'oh - remembered that you can download the installer separately. All good this time - 17A405 :)

No you are not stuck. You can still get it here too: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1937?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Yeah, I'd forgotten about that - it's been a long day :)

Mine looks to be stuck in the last bit of installing. The bar hasn’t moved for about 5 minutes now. Should I restart?

How do you update to OS High Sierra 13. My MacBook Pro (late 13) has OS Sierra 10.12.6 and when I click on update in the App Store it says no updates available.

OK I found it.

Following the update of my MBP today to the 10.13 High Sierra supplemental update, I began having problems. When using my laptop all is fine. When I walk away and there is no interaction with the laptop for approximately 10 minutes, a process named mediaanalysisd is started. This is using about 130% of the processor, and switches the GPU from the integrated to the discrete chip. Of course, this uses a LOT of battery and gets the laptop processor up to 195 degrees thereby getting the fans up to high speed using more battery. Anyone else notice this behavior? I found all this detail using iStat Menus. As soon as I touch any input on this machine, the process is terminated, the processor drops to 2%, the GPU switches to the integrated, the machine starts to cool and the fans eventually slow. This happens repeatedly. Do I now have to sleep the machine every time I walk away to save the battery? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My update through the Mac App Store also failed (and gave me no indication that it did, so I'm glad I saw this thread and checked the build number). The standalone installer worked.

Nice to hear that final beta really was the final beta.
Now I have to do another install on my external test spinner.
Why is Apple wasting our time by putting out software that isn't ready?
They should've let the deadline slip instead.

Anyone know if the standalone sup update installer will actually install on the .1 beta and if it will mess up the beta stream if it does install?

nevermind it didn't. weird beta cycle this time...

I'm starting to think I'm lucky and kind of happy I got called out of town for work and didn't have access to my personal Macs to do the High Sierra install. I've now held off all week this week also, despite being home.

I swear this updated has made my 2016 MBP slower. Converting audio files (something I do regularly) is quite noticeably more slugging. How is this possible? And I thought the GM had actually made things a bit quicker.

I seem to have this running fairly well on my Mac Pro now following a clean install and lots of messing around, but even so I struggle to see any improvement over Sierra. It's merely OK at best.

I downloaded the "Supplemental update" but when I try to install it, it says that my disk doesn't meet the requirements, my disk is an apple ssd, but something interesting in the about this Mac it lists my software as version 10.13.1 Beta (17B25c).
